IT'S ACES FOR KUNSMAN, SKIAS AND SILFEES IN SPIRIT SPEEDWAY POKER SERIES ACTION

Bridgeport's Spirit Speedway hosted the first hand of the 2018 Poker Series for the 270  & 600 Micro Sprints and Slingshots on Sunday evening.

2016 Poker Series Champion, Tommy Kunsman, came away with the win in the 600 Micro Sprint feature to earn an Ace for his Poker hand this season.

Mike Butler led the initial lap before Jay Hartman took the lead on the second circuit.  Hartman led the way for two laps before Kunsman took over on lap four.  Hartman stayed with Kunsman all the way to the checkered flag.  After a disappointing start earlier this season, Kunsman stated that "This track was more my style."

Kunsman took the checkered at the end of twenty-five laps followed by Hartman.  Alex Bright raced side by side with Kyle Spence in the final laps to take third.  Spence finished fourth with Bozowski taking fifth.  Brian Carber, Austin Quick, PJ Williams, Butler and Joe Kay rounded out the top ten.

In the 270 Micro Sprint feature, it was Tom Landwher who led the field through the first two laps of their feature event.

Skias worked his way from his seventh place start to challenge for the lead as he raced Landwher to the stripe to complete the third lap.

There was plenty of action behind the leader as Pat Bealer and Jacob Hendershot battled back and forth for second with Bealer winning the spot in the final laps.

It was Skias' second Spirit win of the season as he took the checkered flag for a Poker Series Ace followed by Bealer, Hendershot, Andrew Locuson and Ken Andreas.

After picking up the win in a tour race on Friday night, young Jared Silfees drove to the win in the Action Track USA Slingshot feature event to collect an Ace for his 2018 Poker Series hand.

Silfee took the lead from Kyle Smith on the second lap and drove to the win without a serious challenge.  Smith was able to fend off the challenges of Brett Bieber to finish second.  Bieber, the 2017 Poker Champion, finished third with Danny Buccafusca taking fourth in a second S&S Speedways entry.  Austin Silfee finished fifth.

Korey Inglin led from the start to the finish to capture the twenty lap feature for the Xcel 600 Modifieds.  Hunter Diehl finished second followed by Richie Hitzler, DJ Hunt who raced his way back from an earlier incident to finish fourth over Bobby Butler.
